Section A — Technical (70 marks)

Section A follows the standard diploma curriculum of the relevant discipline.

  • Electrical: Basic electrical engineering, circuits, electrical machines, power systems, measurement and instrumentation, control systems, power electronics, utilisation of electrical energy, mining electrical safety standards.
  • Mechanical: Engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, strength of materials, machine design, manufacturing processes, industrial engineering, mining machinery and safety standards.
  • Electronics and Telecommunication: Electronic devices and circuits, digital electronics, communication systems, microprocessors, signal processing, control systems, instrumentation.

Section B — General Aptitude (30 marks)

Quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, English language, general awareness and current affairs of national importance.

Preparation strategy - Prioritise the Technical section (70% weightage) — focus on diploma-level concepts and previous year question papers. - Practise full-length mock tests within the 90-minute window. - Cover current affairs daily for the General section. - Solve sectional tests to balance speed and accuracy. - Revise key formulas, diagrams and mining-industry safety standards.
