IPMAT 2026 Exam Pattern and Syllabus: IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak

Candidates must have completed or be appearing in Class 12 (or equivalent) from a recognised board. Detailed minimum-marks and age requirements are listed on the official IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak admission pages.

Apply online via https://www.iimidr.ac.in (IIM Indore) or https://www.iimrohtak.ac.in (IIM Rohtak) within the dates published in the official admission notification.

Stage 1: IPMAT computer-based aptitude test. Stage 2: Personal Interview / Written Ability Test (WAT) for shortlisted candidates as decided by each IIM.

IIM Indore — IPMAT 2026 Pattern

Marking is +4 for a correct answer; -1 for a wrong MCQ. Sectional time limits are enforced and you cannot move between sections.

IIM Rohtak — IPMAT 2026 Pattern

Total 120 MCQs in 120 minutes. Marking is +4 for correct, -1 for wrong. There are no sectional cut-offs but the total score determines shortlisting.

Topic-wise syllabus

Quantitative Ability: Number system, arithmetic (percentage, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time-work, time-speed-distance), algebra, geometry and mensuration, permutation and combination, probability, set theory, data interpretation.

Verbal Ability: Reading comprehension, para-jumbles, sentence correction, vocabulary, fill in the blanks, idioms and phrases, cloze tests.

Logical Reasoning (IIM Rohtak only): Seating arrangement, blood relations, syllogisms, coding-decoding, series, puzzles, data sufficiency, statement and conclusion.

Preparation strategy - Master Class 9-10 NCERT mathematics first; the difficulty rises from there. - Practise short-answer quant problems separately for IIM Indore. - Read editorials daily for IIM Rohtak's verbal section. - Take sectional and full-length mocks weekly to build sectional time-management.
