Agniveer 2026: Age Limit, Education Qualification and Selection Process

Vacancy break-up is released by the Indian Army before each rally cycle on https://joinindianarmy.nic.in. Refer to the official notification for category-wise and trade-wise vacancies.

Age limit (Agniveer 2026): 17.5 to 21 years on the date specified in the official rally notification, common to all categories (General, SC, ST, OBC). Any one-time age relaxation will be specified in the year's official notification only.

Educational qualification by post - Agniveer General Duty (GD) — All Arms: Class 10 / Matric pass with 45% aggregate and 33% in each subject. - Agniveer Technical — All Arms: Class 12 (10+2) pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with the marks specified in the notification. - Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper Technical (SKT) — All Arms: Class 12 pass in any stream with the marks prescribed. - Agniveer Tradesmen (10th pass) — All Arms: Class 10 / Matric pass. - Agniveer Tradesmen (8th pass) — All Arms (e.g. Syce, Housekeeper, Mess Keeper): Class 8 pass.

Candidates whose date of birth falls outside the official DOB range are automatically ineligible, even by a small margin.

1. Register on the official portal at https://joinindianarmy.nic.in.
2. Apply online for Agniveer GD / Technical / Clerk-SKT / Tradesmen as per the rally notification.
3. Upload the required documents (10th certificate as primary DOB proof, Class 12 / ITI / Diploma certificates for relevant posts, photo ID, category certificate where applicable).
4. Download and carry the Online Common Entrance Exam admit card on the exam day.
5. Appear for the Physical Fitness Test, Physical Measurement Test and Medical Examination at the rally venue.

4. Medical Examination as per Army medical standards.
5. Publication of result and final merit list based on performance and vacancy.
